I had one of these, a old 300gb western digital start to fail this week, so I told WHS to remove it from the storage pool, 30 hours later (wtf?) I fed old beefcake two more 1TB drives.

21 fans in all keep him nice and cool.

While its super heavy I love this case, I bought it from Big Stu back in the day before he got involved with stupid macs and such, I’ve always wanted to paint it, perhaps add a fan blowhole, a window, dunno. Scared to mess it up though as I’d not be able to replace parts.

So naturally, in the middle of nowhere, while looking at said pub ruin, I took the opportunity to pick up a hitchhiker.

From there I took him to meet his friend at a shopping center about 20ks away, while on the way there he got a call, friend couldn’t get there, so I took him to his friends house instead.

We chatted a little, he works security, crashed two cars in the last month and his motorcycle got stolen this week. Two kids 8 & 10.
About internet piracy, he uses mininova, didn’t know what bit torrent was though

I half expected to get stabbed or robbed, same thoughts every time I pick one up, I still do it though.
He was so happy, even tried to pay me, told me no I don’t expect anything, just help someone else when he gets the chance.

Arrived yesterday in kl.
Took bus in from airport, 1 hour, $1.50
Worked out the train system, its awesome.
Went to petronis towers, p-ropeganda movie, cinima, fish place.
went to night food market, ate frog, chinatown market.

HAD A FISH MASSAGE.

Bought two knockoff watches, $4

Plane sucked, was pretty terrible. Smallest seats with the least legroom I’ve ever been on. Had irc chat though.
Hotel breakfast was good. Really tired.

Off to Singapore tommorow.

Went to central market, found another cheaper fish massage place. $5mr (about 2.50) for 10 mins.
I think it was freshwater, kinda smelled like a fish tank compared to last nights.

Tried to take a taxi to the zoo, didnt really research it, turned out to be pretty far out, didnt matter ended up at a half build apartment complex for some reason. Went to another fish place at a huge shopping center, I think too many visits is bad.

The fish ate all my leghair, and a small scratch later bled a lot. My legs are so smooth though.
Also had icecream and went to a susi train place there. Nice place. Expencive though. Link
While there we had a product demo in $15000 massage chairs. Amazing.

Found a nice indian taylor in little India. Getting some silk shirts and such made, cost more than thailand, whatever though.
Dinner at a indian market stall, two people, $3aud. It is possible to eat really cheaply.
Off to singapore in the morning, the bus….THE BUS…has wireless internet, massage chairs, a meal, tv, movies, games, $40aud.

Took the bus from Malasia to Singapore, 5 hours. Absolute comfort. $40AUD

Arrived in singapore, had some pinapple rice and headed to the hotel to drop off bags.

Happy hotel….yeah dodgy, cheap though. $50aud.
Went to the first room….701 noticed the wall was moving….bedbugs.
Complained, was given the one next door. Pubes in the bed….

Back down stairs to complain. Lady took us up this time, to make sure we were happy, see what we would complain about. Seemed ok, I lifted up the toilet seat with he standing next to me….seat sprinkled with poopies. Trip advisor

1 eventual refund later, I type this from a internet cafe (2x terminals, 1 hour $4AUD)

Hotel is super nice, paid a lot extra for it, $150 a night after upgrading.

Probally worth it though. Free internet, great aircon, free breakfast…best of all though is access to the executive lounge.

Between 6-8pm they have a small buffet and drinks, included.
I figure at singapore prices we drank over $200 along with abusing the food.

Tuna mornay with mussels the prawns.
Buffalo wings.
Cakes, deserts and such.
Little expensive snackiey type things.

So we checked in, abused the hospatality and a bit later visited the night market, 24 hour place called mustafa.

Prices not really special here compared to KL. Worth a look though.
Afterwards walked around little india a bit and had dinner.

Buffett breakfast @ the hotel.
Had a wander around chinatown.
Tried the train from chinatown, to the harbor. Really nice system.
Took a cable car to Sentosa island

Patted a stingray at the underwater center.

Watched a fuckass dolphin marketing exercise.
A good art-history thing

Then cable car back to Singapore while rocking it and being screamed at.
Night safari was actually really good. It is a tram through the park, mostly in the dark with some indirect lighting on the pens. Halfway in visitors are allowed off to walk around 10+ areas with things like bats, active big cats and such. It was worth going to Singapore just for this.
Afterwards we caught a bus as part of our entrance fee most of the way back to our hotel.

Tommorow…

leave hotel….duck boat ride? battlebox? arrange bus….uhh where?
Possibly pennang? no solid plans.

Didnt make it to the duckboat, didnt looke like fun in a storm, swam on 5th floor pool insted.
Went to Raffles shopping mall on the doormans suggestion…deserted, new, arcade, played afterburner II and some asian redemption games.

Decided to go to Pennang.
Got fucked on the bus this time. The bus company decided that with only 5 passangers to send us in a fucko thirdparty bus from the 60’s.

Lucky it was empty. My ass took quite a pounding, bad roads, fast speeds, getting launched out on ones seat, and landing against the armrest every 30mins or so sucked. Bus not as advertised. Not at all.

Stopped at a interesting rest stop where people just pissed directly onto the soaked floor in the bathroom.
Also had a nice health check at the border, turns out Australia now has the swine flu.

Made it to Pennang 11 hours later. The Hydra hotel is amazing at 50aud a night.

Just got back from market in town, found another fish spa, 7aud for 30mins, dinner, 16satey sticks, 8aud, 4cokes 4aud, banna pancake x2 3.5aud 2xtaxi 10aud.

Also saw a steak place made out of a Chinese junk?

Didnt do much yesterday. swimming, Market, 75kph jetski, happy feet fish massage, kfc, market, swimming
today…nothing yet, just swimming, need to arrange to get back to kl at some point.

Might stay a few extra days. Nice here.

Took a Taxi to the ferry to the mainland.
The ferry outbound is free.

We saw a guy with either gangrene or leprosy, I cant identify either by sight.. dude was in shorts and what looked at first to be a single gumboot…dude was not wearing a gumboot.

So anyway ferry from Penang to the mainland, Butterworth and over to the new bus terminal about 100 meters walk all up.

The bus was a “supernice” and of passable quality at $10AUD for the 5 hour trip in, from there off to the hotel, the Taylor to pickup my silk.
Went to a IT super mall, lots of cool stuff, prices not good enough to bother with though. Did pickup a 2gb knockoff mp3 player though for about $20.

At the hotel I found the pool had closed a hour before and “managed” to open a door to a ajacent confrance room, and used that to get in while hiding from the camera.

Taxi to airport was good. Picked this guy up outside the hotel at about 5am initially. Looking for a place to pickup a few forgotten shopping items. He took us to Chinatown, mostly closed, then back to the hotel to get our stuff and check out.

Then to a “gift shop” usial dubious thing, I bet he got commission, I did find a new stingray leather wallet though, dog ate my old one and haggled down to a third of the price.

Then off to the airport. Saw some asian rice street racing on the way (cool) and talked with the driver for ages about housing, culture and such.

7 hours of discomfort, smells, sick people on the plane. Disinfectant sprays, thermal scans, customs checks.

I have a few stories.

One of my sets of neighbours has a dog. Well two dogs actually. The first is a yellow labrador that looks more like a decorated beer keg than a dog, the second is Chuck.

The big one.

They have been looking after him “for a few weeks, until his owner buys a new house” for about six month now.

The problem being, and the reason I’m involved, and the dog is in my house is he keeps getting out.
Her gets out, I take him back, at that point I suspect they hit him. I base this on his reactions. When we first met he was easy to approach and pat, now he is frightened and a few times I’ve gone to grab him or walked behing he and had him make a fear sound.

They also leave him and the other dog for weekends at a time. At which point he escapes their yard. Thus far he has totally destroyed thier fence to get out, and last week while they were away ate through their central heating under thier house.

I found out about the heating last week, upon taking him back having had him in for two days.

I’m in a bad way.

Cant ignore the problem. – When out he sniffs around my front yard making my dog bark.

Tried talking to the neighbour, politlely so far. This week they spent a whoe day securing their yard before going away, he was out a hour later.

I dont want to call the pound. I dont think they will pick him up. I am considering making that threat to the neighbours though…possibly at the cost of good relations.

He is fantastic, and well behaved when I have him knows all the standard commands, very gentle. But I really dont want another dog, and I cant afford to deal with the big potantial for damage having seen what he did to thier house.

In short I have no idea what to do.

Also got some other new neighbours recently. The Sudanese family (perfect apart from the occational jacket floating around at night) were replaced with some bitch.

Drunk fucks had four police visits last night including a $400 fine for noise…and still didnt shut the fuck up.
I got about two hours sleep…at work now, 18 hour shift. Great.

I passed my first (Practice & 1/7) CCNA test. Bare minimum 80%!

I bought it from a place in Melbourne Australia, (Bumper action) and got screwed on it but didn’t learn of the issues until after the 30 warranty was up.
The video issue started happening intermittently after a few weeks, I’d power cycle and it would be ok for awhile.

I believe I was screwed as upon closer inspection I find all the rollers are heavily worn, it was supposed to be reconditioned.

I’d been debating gutting it and turning it into a mame cab for some time and stalling as its a classic machine, 29 years old.
Yesterday I spent some time reading manuals, trolling news groups and adjusting pots inside a exposed, powered monitor.

Super dangerous. Chance of death if I touched the wrong thing.

Fixed it though. Now I’m getting new rollers made by my neighbour with a lathe
