Story

Perhaps it is time to sponsor a child after all. My condition would always be that I could send a disposable camera they, they would return. I’d want photos of them wearing offensive shirts, (That I would send) riding a goat and stiff like that. *Updated*

sad sad They didn’t reply for some reason sad sad

After reading about the children in Monrovia I’m considering helping out,
would be good for them to have some food occasionally and I guess it’s tax
deductible.

I have a few key questions though.

1. Is there a contract or a fixed term ?
2. Do I get to choose who I’m sending my cheque to, can I change this ?
3. Most important. Can I send gifts ? Receive things in return ? Can I
trade say a shovel for a drawing for example ?

Along this line I’d like to be able to send a disposable camera have my
child take some photos, their family, village, a goat wearing a hat I’d
provide things like that. Is this possible ?

Kind regards,
A.Nailer

Finished moving finally.

Published by admin under Random

I moved the last item from Whitey’s yesterday. My plant.
Hardly an interesting update I’m sure but this is my page I’ll write what I want.I’m slowly starting to unpack my crap, getting my computer stuff online slowly.

Thus far I have:

Main pc – Online
Linix pc – Online.
TV-out pc – Online.

Bedroom pc – Offline.
Laptop/remote control – Offline.
Fileserver – Offline.

Getting there. Still waiting for my ADSL to be relocated, my modem and little switch are at Whitey’s still. I’ll take those when his internet stops working.

Unpacking boxes full of random hastily packed crap.

I start looking at my desk

Wondering if I could make better use of the space.

Ive also been thinking about video walls lately, I wonder if I could do something like that.

I have a 21 inch monitor and several 17′s along with *Sigh* several 15′s.
I wonder.

I could destroy this perfectly useful wheeled tv unit and use it as a box…

I wonder….

I thought that removing the middle shelf would be easy, that it would be nailed in or would just break.

Noooooooooo why would it be easy ? Nothing else ever is.
I tried knocking it out with a crowbar and failed.

I could not remove the shelf. It took me 40 minutes to remove it. I used a drill and cut a path down the center then smashed the hell out of it with the crowbar, made a hole and pried away.

40 minutes of my time and sawdust allover the carpet that I had to clean.
All of that effort later I tried it out.

A success. Apart from the fact that I later decided that the “movie” monitor was too high up and I’d be forced to tilt my head at an unacceptable angle (I would be able to read my internet monitor) to view it.

*Sigh*

I don’t know.

Still. Moving.

Published by admin under Random

Moved my desk today.Get home today. Feeling good. As of yesterday, for the first time in 19 days I had a good uninterrupted sleep.

I had two big things to move. My desk, and my fridge along with a few car loads of small crap and some rubbish.
I have until the seventh to finish.

Anyway as I wrote I decided to try and do the desk.
Wandered over there with Crack-Hoe in tow, with a trolley and a few tools.

I planned to do one of four things.

1. Put the desk on the trolley and drag it behind a car.
2. Take the desk apart and move it in pieces.
3. Remove the drawers to make it easier to move.
4. Beat the shit out of it with a hammer and buy a new desk/smash the drawers off to make it easier to move.

So we get there, I flip the desk on it’s side (#3)and start removing the screws and bracket things. Easy, quick, making progress.

Crack-ho wants to be helpful and asks me to hand her the bits. Fine.

Hmmmm seem to be out of things to unscrew and the drawers are still hanging there.

Fuck it. I start to do some hammer work and try to pry the drawers off. I really do not want to do this, but it need moving, perhaps I can reattach them later or replace them with free standing ones. Whatever.

Crack-Hoe stops me. She thinks she can find the other screws. She found one which she removed.

She wants to go with the trolley idea (#1) , I say fine put the screws back in and I’ll clear a path (Fridge was in the way along with other crap) she argues, I tell her that if we are moving it in one piece the screws need to go in or it will break in transit.

She lost the screws.
I was pissed.

She walked around in a circle making a lot of noise but didn’t really look for them.

Eventually after some unpleasantness the screws were located and brackets put back into place.

Aint moving great ?
