Afterwhich while digging the new foundations for the new house a retard in a bobcat dumped tons of dirt on our shared fence.

The post behind the tree was broken off at ground level.
So over the next six months or so I went from builders to council workers to builders and so on trying to get it fixed.

The first time was when one of them jumped over the fence and made a mess with concrete. Didnt do anything.
The second, and my favorite was this.

They sent a young guy over to put in a few supports. He did that. I laughed and sms’d that photo to his boss who made him come straight back. He then put them in at 90degrees but they didnt do much. I could move the whole fence with my little finger.

After more bitching he was sent out again yesterday with instructions to replace/put in a new post. I get home yesterday and he is waiting outside at 7am…I ask when he plans to do. Put in a new post next to the old one and bolt them together.

Sounds fine. But…why does it need to be on my side? All the posts are on your side.

8 hours of noise later it seems fixed.

Kitched carches fire.
Insurance sends two builders to give quotes and chooses the cheapest one.
I trust the expensive one more. So I pay the differecne and get them.

7 months of delays and outright lies later they start work.
Two weeks ago they finish the last part, the floor.

The process now is I sign off on the work. Then the insurance company pays the builder. Story over.
I have a bunch of little things I want fixed though. Stuff I’d probally do myself or ignore were I not pissed off.

Whatever though. I can wait.
So I do.
Builders office calls me on friday. Somone new, she probally arranges payment/accounts.
I verbally give her my list of things. She is surprised. Tells me she will talk to the building supervisor and asks me to send the list by email. I do nothing.

Today he arrives unannounced “was in the area” to have a look
Much more interested to help now that they are 20k+ out of pocket it seems.

Window guy came out. Twice. First time he didnt call. And spent 30 two hours driveing to measure a window for 30 seconds.

So he came out went over my bitchlist and agreed.
Next:
2x painters to come out for touchups + some decent sized mistakes.
Cabinet maker (not yet arranged) to fix some stuff. They missed a handle for fucks sake.

Punchline: Everything I really want to see is on the other island.

Very long story short.
Neighbour has a sister.
Sister has a bunch of kids.
Sister kinda crazy, some shit happens, neighbour take the kids and sister in.
Sister becomes convinced that people are watching her. Goes home. Neighbours husband drives her, in her car.
I go get him from Hearhcote and get him home around 3am.
A week later they check on her and find the kitten in a bin. Tiny, covered in fleas. Bring it home.
Then cant look after it. 10+ people in thier house. Dog, chickens, Autistic kids, birds, too much.
So we took it.

On Friday the guy came out, chiseled out a bunch of tiles and put nice new ones in.
Yesterday he came back and cleaned and stripped (the floor)
Today he is doing three coats of acrylic sealer and it’ll be done.

3 Days later furniture and such can be moved back in.

8 months later and apart from a few odds and sods that I’ll bust builder balls about it is done.

I have a bunch of small surprises for him.
