I passed my first (Practice & 1/7) CCNA test. Bare minimum 80%!

* Lui – Still dead, planted a tree for him, neighbour made him a little headstone. Hurts.

* Got a new toy, a Tevion P310 gps. $179 fro Aldi. Came with 256 internal memoer rather than the 512 the advertised. Plan to whinge. It did however come with an extra licence key for Route 66 mapping software. Its kinda nice I guess.

* Garden shite proceeding, will start separating and re-potting next week.

* Got a quote for the network and theater cable install I want. $1800 + GST. Fuck.

* Got a new fridge. Was using Bens old one after he bailed, it leaked a little, ate lots of power but it was free. New one is pretty nice, stainless steel and has a little water dispenser on the door.

* Got a new diswasher…nice, stainless steel too….pity I’m fucking retarded. I had to take the feet and top off to get it to fit….not all the same size it turns out.

* One of my neighbours put up some shitty trellis on the back corner of the shared fence, shitty as in three different types with gaps. So I put up four times as much on my side. I put up about 30 garden lights + string lights in my trees too so the whole yard glows at night. Neighbor war to follow? Perhaps.

Not much else to tell. Working most of my weekends this month as overtime to pay for this shit and extra on the mortgage.Almost four months ahead now. Starting to wonder what the point is really. I’m never there to use/enjoy any of it.

Puppy is still around, trying not to hate her.
I miss my friend.

Whitey is on a tropical island getting married, I wanted to go…overseas, public holiday long weekend and two months after i bought my house.

Feel bad about not going, I’m brokeass trying to get ahead on my stupid house.

On that theme I’m trying the garden thing at the moment, the first of my tomato shoots emerged yesterday afternoon, trying chillis, spring onions, carrots and some cooking herbs. Its kinda nice I guess having the freedom to do so after a decade renting.

Not much else to report I work more than anything else at the moment.

My first shift is almost over.

Now watching tv in a empty building is pretty sweet, I’d love a game of soldat though.
Pretty sleepy, looking forward to heading home to see just what level of disaster $1038 movers bought me. They were finishing while I was at work.

This house crap is pretty expensive. I hope its worth it.

Edit 07-02-2008: Got roller shutters yesterday. My bedroom is almost completely dark.

Both great for graveyard, moreso with 12 hour shifts, I like them but they are tiring.
Sadly though I seem to be reliving my previous experience, moving right as the company enters retard mode…and I just bought a house. Yeeeha.

I start it again full time in a few weeks.

Sitting here, watching the sun come up while watching Chuck Norris in Missing in action reading and looking at my network monitoring display occasionally. Pretty hardcore.

It’ll be good and suits me in many ways, I gotta say though that I miss my old crew at my last job. No so much the”manger” aspect, the only part about that that I didnt think was bullshit was that I could look after people and fix shit I thought was wrong. But hanging out, playing a few games or watching a movie, making fun of the odd customer and getting into mischief…Good times.

I’ve done about 8 minutes work all up and earned about $300 for today, so the money is good and I may well be able to swing things so I can work seven days on, seven days off…and I know I made the right decision in leaving my old job and burning them on my way out…I just miss it sometimes thats all

Desk owner has been sick for the last few days. Will he be pissed, will he smile?

I’ve always sort of wanted a server rack for my stuff. Enough to go look at them at auction, enough to bid, not enough to pay 500+ dollars (for the cheapest ones) and then pay again to get it home only to pay again for all the stuff they need, panels, power rails, fans and so on.

Today however this little dream came true.

Work was going to let builders dispose of a full comms cabinet. I saved it.

Took two loads in my poor freaking car to get it home. Its not a great photo, but the sidepanel is clearly sticking out the side of the boot by almost a meter….not to mention the rack itself.

Was a fun drive.

Got it home and put it back together. Removed, three doors, two side panels, two shelves, four rack rails, one big power rail and rackmounted saftey switch thing.

Hmmmm I wonder where these go?

* Almost out of probation at my new job. Only five more days until its slightly harder to fire me. Woo.

* Thinking hard about giving up on my missile command machine. It’ll cost me $300AUD for perfect trackballs or about $100USD of the parts I need to recondition them myself.

+Whatever it costs to trouble shoot a few small side issues it has.

Afterwards it’ll still be a single play game…or I can spend the same or less and play hundreds of games.

Got called in for some double time.
It got quiet when I arrived though so….
